The film is slated for release on April 17, 2026.<br \/><br \/>Producers for the scary movie include New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster, and Blumhouse, along with Cronin\u2019s Doppelgangers. The director had earlier made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt13345606\/\"><em><strong>Evil Dead Rise<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, another horror flick for New Line. In December of 2024, Cronin was quoted in <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/the-mummy-lee-cronin-1236091409\/\">The Hollywood Reporter <\/a><\/em>as saying that the upcoming film \u201cwill be unlike any <em><strong>Mummy<\/strong> <\/em>movie you ever laid eyeballs on before. I\u2019m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening.\u201d<br \/><br \/>While few details are known about the story, it\u2019s reported that Reynor will be playing the role of a husband and father victimized by the supernatural. The actor had earlier appeared in <em><strong>Transformers: Age of Extinction<\/strong><\/em> (2014) and two 2016 offerings, <em><strong>Sing Street<\/strong> <\/em>and <em><strong>Free Fire<\/strong><\/em>. He was also seen in the cast of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt11514868\/\"><em><strong>The Perfect Couple<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, a popular Netflix mystery series that debuted in 2024.<\/p>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<p><em><strong>The Mummy<\/strong><\/em> franchise includes a 1999 movie starring Brendan Fraser, plus two sequels and a reboot starring Tom Cruise that rose from the grave in 2017 only to sink back down.<br \/>The 1999 film by Universal was loosely based on a 1932 movie with the same name.<\/p>\r\n<p>The modernized version followed the adventures of treasure hunter Rick O\u2019Connor, who travels to Hamunaptra, The City of the Dead, with a librarian and her older brother, where they accidentally bring to life a ancient Egyptian high priest named Imhotep, who wreaks havoc when his supernatural powers are roused.
