Sony pictures has released a highly anticipated summer film, Ralph Macchio<\/a>, the OG from “The Karate Kid<\/strong>“, is teaming up with martial arts legend Jackie Chan<\/a>, who starred in 2010’s “The Karate Kid<\/strong>“, to bring new moves and life lessons to the big screen, this will mark the sixth film of the Karate Kid franchise.<\/p>\n

“Karate Kid: Legends<\/strong>” picks up after the series finale of Cobra Kai, which offered a redemption arc for William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence. Ben Wang<\/a> enters the franchise as the latest martial arts prodigy to be trained by two mentors, Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Han played by Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the synopsis reads : “Karate Kid: Legends<\/strong>” unites the iconic martial arts masters of one of the most beloved film franchises of all time to tell a completely new story full of action and heart. When kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang) relocates to New York City with his mother to attend a prestigious new school, he finds solace in a new friendship with a classmate and her father.<\/p>\n

But his newfound peace is short-lived after he attracts unwanted attention from a formidable local karate champion. Driven by a desire to defend himself, Li embarks on a journey to enter the ultimate karate competition. Guided by the wisdom of his kung fu teacher, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), and the legendary Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Li merges their unique styles to prepare for an epic martial arts showdown.<\/p>\n<\/ins>\n

“Seeing how important Li Fong is to Mr. Han and Daniel’s relationship to Miyagi \u2014 there’s a parallel there,” Macchio says in the trailer reflecting on LaRusso’s late mentor, played by Pat Morita, who died in 2005. “There’s the kung fu he learned in Beijing from Mr. Han, but he’s entering a karate tournament, which is a different type of martial arts. And now, combining those worlds in an authentic way, the kung fu and karate, it’s something fresh.”<\/p>\n

Johnny Lawrence (portrayed by William Zabka) and the All-Valley Karate Tournament champion use Miyagi’s defensive tactics and Cobra Kai’s offensive moves to guide their students and, finally, Johnny Lawrence, to triumph in the global karate championship, the Sekai Taikai.<\/p>\n

The films stars Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley and Ming-Na Wen. The film is directed by Jonathan Entwistle, written by Rob Lieber, produced by Karen Rosenfelt, and Jenny Hinkey, Ralph Macchio listed as executive producers.<\/p>\n
