The film will be written and directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0585344\/\">Jim Mickle<\/a>, the showrunner for <em><strong>Sweet Tooth<\/strong><\/em>, who will produce it with Linda Moran through their Nightshade entity.<br \/><br \/>The <em><strong>Gundam<\/strong> <\/em>franchise got its start in 1979 as a TV series by Yoshiyuki Tomino, titled <em><strong>Mobile Suit Gundam<\/strong><\/em>. Part of the so-called <em>mecha<\/em> category of sci-fi, it will be the first live-action entry in the series. Set in a future known as the Universal Century, the Gundam narratives feature warring human colonies fighting in space using gargantuan robots known as Mobile Suits. The original series spun off a wide variety of animated features, novels, manga, videogames, and toys.<br \/><br \/>When Legendary greenlighed the new <em><strong>Gundam<\/strong> <\/em>film in 2021, the original choice for director was to have been Jordan Vogt-Roberts of <em><strong>Kong: Skull Island<\/strong><\/em> fame. No further details about plot or character development have yet been revealed, and an estimated release date is likewise unknown at this point.<\/p>\r\n<p><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\u00a0<br \/><br \/>The 27-year-old Sydney Sweeney first came to prominence in 2018 for her roles in several television series, including <em><strong>Everything Sucks!<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>The Handmaid\u2019s Ta<\/strong><\/em>le, and <em><strong>Sharp Objects<\/strong><\/em>. In 2019, she was featured in <em><strong>Once Upon a Time in Hollywood<\/strong><\/em>, a film directed by Quentin Tarantino. She earned nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards for her roles in HBO\u2019s <em><strong>Euphoria<\/strong> <\/em>series and in <em><strong>The White Lotus<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\r\n<p>Sweeney most recently appeared in <em><strong>Madame Web<\/strong><\/em>, part of Sony&#8217;s Spider-Man Universe, but it was neither a critical nor a commercial success. She also was seen in <strong>Immaculate<\/strong>, and in Ron Howard\u2019s <em><strong>Eden<\/strong><\/em>. She\u2019ll soon be appearing with Julianne Moore in <em><strong>Echo Valley<\/strong> <\/em>for AppleTV+, as well <em><strong>The Housemaid<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>Scandalous<\/strong><\/em>, and a yet-unnamed biopic about boxer Christy Martin.
