Rowling.<br \/><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=john+lithgow\">John Lithgow<\/a> will be playing the role of headmaster Albus Dumbledore, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0005216\/https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=Janet+McTeer\">Janet McTeer<\/a> will be cast as Transfiguration Professor Minerva McGonagall and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm5469396\/\">Paapa Essiedu<\/a> will appear as Potions Professor Severus Shape. As confirmed earlier, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0296545\/\">Nick Frost<\/a> will portray the Hogwarts gamekeeper Rubeus Hagrid.<\/p>\r\n<p>In addition, actor<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm10991332\/\"> Luke Thallon<\/a> is being cast as Profesor Quirinus Quirrel and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0925768\/\">Paul Whitehouse <\/a>will appear as Argus Fitch, the caretaker at Hogwarts.<br \/><br \/>HBO has not yet indicated who will be playing the children\u2019s roles of Harry, Ron, Hermione, or Draco, though the studio has been auditioning many thousands of prospective candidates. <br \/><br \/>In announcing the above characters, HBO\u2019s Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod stated: :\u201cWe\u2019re delighted to have such extraordinary talent onboard, and we can\u2019t wait to see them bring these beloved characters to new life.\u201d Gardiner is showrunner and executive producer, while Mylod, also an executive producer, will direct several episodes.<\/p>\r\n<p><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\u00a0<br \/><br \/>All of the actors chosen for the upcoming series have recently appeared on the big screen. Lithgow has been seen in <em><strong>Conclave<\/strong> <\/em>and <em><strong>The Crown<\/strong><\/em>, McTee in <em><strong>Tumbleweeds<\/strong> <\/em>and <em><strong>The White Queen<\/strong><\/em>, Essiedu in <em><strong>I May Destroy You<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>Gangs of London<\/strong><\/em>, and Frost in <em><strong>Shaun of the Dead<\/strong><\/em> and<em><strong> Hot Fuzz<\/strong><\/em>. Also, Thallon appeared in <em><strong>Leopoldstadt<\/strong> <\/em>and <em><strong>Patriots<\/strong><\/em>, while Whitehouse\u2019s credits include <em><strong>The Fast Show<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>Harry &amp; Paul<\/strong><\/em>.<br \/><br \/>According to the producers, the series will be a \u201cfaithful adaptation\u201d of the Harry Potter stories. In an official statement, HBO said in part: \u201cExploring every corner of the wizarding world, each season will bring \u2018Harry Potter\u2019 and its incredible adventures to new and existing audiences.\u201d<br \/><br \/>The Harry Potter series is being created by HBO in association with Bront\u00eb Film and TV and Warner Bros.
