Although Mikey Madison<\/a> was being considered by Lucasfilm for a major role in Shawn Levy\u2019<\/a>s upcoming Star Wars<\/strong><\/em><\/a> movie, starring Ryan Gosling, she has reportedly turned down the part.

News about Madison’s involvement was first reported by Jeff Sneider, who wrote in The Insneider<\/a>: \u201cTalks are still early, and the reason I can\u2019t say for certain that Madison is doing Levy\u2019s Star Wars<\/strong><\/em> movie is because she\u2019s simultaneously entertaining an offer for Zach Cregger\u2019s Resident Evil<\/strong><\/em> movie at Sony, which is set to star Austin Abrams. I don\u2019t know if those two movies conflict and she\u2019ll be forced to choose one or the other, but something tells me she\u2019ll take Lucasfilm up on its offer. After all, the chance to be in a Star Wars<\/strong> <\/em>movie is a rare opportunity coveted by many actors.\u201d

The 26-year-old Madison recently snagged an Oscar for Best Actress in the 2024 film Anora<\/strong><\/em>, which was directed by Sean Baker. Earlier roles included an appearance in Quentin Tarentino’s 2019 movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,<\/strong> <\/em>where she played Susan Atkins, a Manson family member. She also appeared as Amber Freeman in Scream,<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett in 2022.<\/p>\r\n

Details about the plot or release date for Levy\u2019s Star Wars<\/strong><\/em> film have not yet been revealed. Although scriptwriter Jonathan Tropper<\/a> has been attached to the project for the past year, Levy has been developing the movie since 2022. The new film, which is slated for release on May 22, 2026, is unrelated to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.<\/strong><\/em> It will follow Jon Favreau\u2019s The Mandalorian & Grogu<\/strong><\/em>.

Levy\u2019s most recent project has been Deadpool & Wolverine<\/strong><\/em>, a 2024 offering by Marvel Studios. He also directed The Adam Project<\/strong><\/em> in 2022, Free Guy<\/strong><\/em> in 2021, Real Steel<\/strong><\/em> in 2011, Night at the Museum<\/strong><\/em> in 2006, and Cheaper by the Dozen<\/strong><\/em> in 2003.
