Eva Victor<\/a>‘s debut film as a director, “Sorry, Baby<\/strong><\/a>,” which she also wrote and starred in, was the standout at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.<\/p>\n

When \u201cSorry, Baby<\/strong>\u201d premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, it was one of the event\u2019s few sensations and ended up with a major bidding war between Neon, Mubi and Searchlight Pictures.<\/p>\n

The film was acquired by A24 before the festival ended, and it garnered a Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award from the U.S. Dramatic Competition for its poignant and incisive portrayal of an academic recovering from trauma. Now, A24 has dropped a new trailer for\u00a0 <\/span>highly anticipated film.<\/p>\n<\/ins>\n

A24\u2019s logline for \u201cSorry, Baby<\/strong>\u201d is \u201cSomething bad happened to Agnes. But life goes on\u2026 for everyone around her, at least\u201d, but our writer Adriano Ercolani wrote, <\/a>“Eva Victor with her debut behind the camera has achieved an impressive result. Sorry, Baby<\/b>\u00a0works on two different levels: first one is entertaining to watch, full of witty characters and odd situations that capture the viewers\u2019 attention without necessarily forcing them to smile or even laugh about something that is not fun at all.<\/p>\n

On a deeper and most important level the movie shows a modesty, an intimacy that makes you participate with a respectful empathy to the protagonist\u2019s journey, whichever it may be. In the end, you truly feel for Agnes and her inner, twisted life. And at the same time you understand that, as damaged as she is, there is enough strength, wisdom, humanity inside and around her to keep carrying on.\u201d when he covered this film at the Sundance.<\/p>\n

Besides Vitor, the film also stars Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak Ackie, Lucas Hedges, John Carroll Lynch and Kelly McCormack. Barry Jenkins, an Oscar winner, was responsible for producing the movie with Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak.<\/p>\n

Sorry,\u00a0 <\/span>Baby will premiere in U.S. theaters on June 27th through A24 after opening the Seattle International Film Festival for one final festival appearance.<\/p>\n
