There haven\u2019t been many comedies about Jewish traditions, something that filmmaker Daniel Robbins hopes to change with <\/span>Bad Shabbos<\/i><\/b>, his award-winning ensemble comedy with one of the most eclectic casts of Hollywood veterans, newcomers, and even a rap star. The premise for the movie involves Jon Bass\u2019 David bringing his Goyim (i.e. non-Jewish) fianc\u00e9e Meg (Meghan Leathers) to join his family for a traditional Sabbath dinner. Meg\u2019s parents are also coming and meeting David\u2019s family for the first time, so what could possibly go wrong?<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, a member of the family suddenly dies, that\u2019s what, and with the help of his family and the building doorman Jordan (played by Cliff \u201cMethod Man\u201d Smith of the Wu-Tang Clan), David needs to figure out how to save the night. Playing David\u2019s parents are David Paymer and Kyra Sedgwick, with a fairly large cast around them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bass might be best known for his role on the comedy anthology series, <\/span>Miracle Workers<\/i><\/b>, as well as on the Marvel\/Disney+ series, <\/span>She-Hulk<\/i><\/b>: <\/span><\/i>Attorney at Law<\/i><\/b>, but he\u2019s one of those actors who you see everywhere and immediately think, \u201cHey, it\u2019s that guy!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
