Ahoy, Straw Hats! A cute, toddler-sized friend will join “One Piece<\/strong><\/a>” when the live-action series returns for Season 2 in 2026.<\/p>\n

During Netflix 2025 : The Live Event on May 31, stars I\u00f1aki Godoy<\/a> (who plays Luffy), Mackenyu<\/a> (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar<\/a> (Sanji) took the stage to preview what\u2019s to come, including a first look at the latest character to board the series, Tony Tony Chopper.<\/p>\n

But who is this adorable creature in the giant pink top hat?<\/p>\n

A blue-nosed reindeer-boy hybrid, Chopper is as smart as he is cute. With the ability to treat various illnesses, he aims to travel the world and accomplish his dream of curing any disease \u2014 which would certainly come in handy for our Straw Hat pirates. He\u2019s also fiercely loyal, loves compliments (but doesn\u2019t want you to know it), and wears his heart on his sleeve. But don\u2019t let his sweet face fool you. This fan-favorite character is a lot tougher than he looks. And whatever you do, don\u2019t call him a raccoon! He\u2019s a reindeer!<\/p>\n

Chopper is voiced by Mikaela Hoover (Beef<\/i>,\u00a0Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3<\/i>,\u00a0Superman<\/i>), who also performed facial capture for the character.<\/p>\n<\/ins>\n

\u201cWhat excited me about playing Chopper is the tug of war between his standoffishness and his huge heart,\u201d Hoover tells Tudum. \u201cHe tries so hard to hide his emotions and put on a tough exterior, but underneath, he\u2019s a big softy, and his love can\u2019t help but come out.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe there is a little Chopper in all of us,\u201d she adds. \u201cWe all want to be loved and accepted. We go to great lengths to keep the people that we love safe. There\u2019s a purity to his nature that reminds us of what\u2019s good in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The visual-effects company Framestore adapted Chopper for the live-action series, and based his design on ONE PIECE<\/i> creator Eiichiro Oda\u2019s beloved manga drawing.<\/p>\n

Visual-effects supervisor Victor Scalise tells Netflix, \u201cIt\u2019s been a lot of fun. We\u2019ve got a great team leading that process with Chopper \u2026 I think the audience, when they see him, they\u2019re going to be very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
