But the project will have to wait until Cameron has completed his work on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0499549\/\"><em><strong>Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<br \/><br \/>Abercrombie, who has been acclaimed for his fantasy books such as <em>The First Law<\/em> and <em>Age of Madness<\/em>, also worked on the fourth season of Netflix\u2019s animation series, <em><strong>Love, Death &amp; Robots.<\/strong><\/em><br \/><br \/><em><strong>The Devils<\/strong><\/em> will not be connected in any way with Ken Russell\u2019s similarly named film in the 1970s. It has been described a \u201cdark fantasy epic\u201d about monsters tasked with saving medieval Europe from flesh-eating elves.<br \/><br \/>Cameron stated his reasons for taking on the project: \u201cI\u2019ve loved Joe\u2019s writing for years, cherishing each new read, throughout the epic cycle of the <em>First Law<\/em> books, especially <em>Best Served Cold<\/em> (LOVE IT!) and the <em>Age of Madness<\/em> trilogy. But the freshness of the world and the characters in <em>The Devils<\/em> finally got me off my butt to buy one of his books and partner with him to bring it to the screen.<\/p>\r\n<p><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\u00a0<br \/><br \/>&#8220;I\u2019m looking forward to the writing process with him, though I\u2019m certain this adaptation will practically write itself because Joe writes very visually, almost in scenes, and with a very cinematic structure,\u201d he continued. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to dig into this as I wind down on <em><strong>Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/strong><\/em>. It will be a joyful new challenge for me to bring these indelible characters to life.\u201d<br \/><br \/>It&#8217;s not yet been confirmed whether Cameron himself will be directing the film adaptation of Abeercrombie\u2019s epic. He had earlier made a name for himself by directing <em><strong>The Terminator<\/strong><\/em> (1984), <em><strong>Aliens<\/strong> <\/em>(1986), and <em><strong>Avatar<\/strong> <\/em>(2009) and its sequels.
