Michael Madsen<\/a>, who frequently collaborated with director Quentin Tarantino and appeared in numerous acclaimed films from the 1980s onwards, has passed away.<\/p>\nRodriguez reported to CNN that Madsen went into cardiac arrest and was found unresponsive at his Malibu home on Thursday morning.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\nMadsen began his TV career in the early 1980s, and his early performances, including “St. Elsewhere<\/strong>“, put him on the map. Madsen soon moved on to film, where he made a lasting impression in the 1991 film “Thelma & Louise<\/strong>“, as Jimmy, Louise’s put-upon love interest, played by Susan Sarandon.<\/p>\nThis marked the start of a prolific period in the actor’s career, where they appeared in mostly action films, as well as westerns like 1994’s “Wyatt Earp<\/strong>.” Even though much of Madsen’s work focused on B-movies, he still appeared in high-profile hits like “Donnie Brasco<\/strong>” in 1997, the James Bond film “Die Another Day<\/strong>” in 2002, and 2005’s “Sin City<\/strong>“.<\/p>\nMore than 320 credits to his name on IMDb, Madsen also had a whopping 18 titles in development at the time of his death.<\/p>\n
In the statement from his representatives following his death, they said Madsen had been \u201cdoing some incredible work with independent film including upcoming feature films “Resurrection Road<\/strong>“, “Concessions<\/strong>” and “Cookbook for Southern Housewives<\/strong>.”<\/p>\nLegal and personal issues were a part of Madsen’s off-screen life, following a dispute with his wife DeAnna Madsen, he was arrested for domestic battery misdemeanor last year, as reported by Variety and online arrest records.
