A24 announced earlier this month that they had secured the rights to release “Ne Zha 2<\/strong>,” a Chinese animated movie that became the highest-grossing animated movie ever created when it was first shown in theaters in January. The first trailer for the English dub version of the movie by the company has been released, highlighting the vibrant, beautifully animated fantasy world of the action epic<\/p>\n “Ne Zha 2<\/strong>” is the follow-up to 2019’s “Ne Zha<\/strong>,” which is based on the deity named Ne Zha in Buddhism, Taoist, and Chinese folk religion traditions. The two movies are based on the young Ne Zha while being inspired by the 16th century novel ‘Investiture of the Gods’.\u00a0 <\/span>An ancient demon orb’s reincarnation resulted in the birth of a boy. He attempts to subvert a prophecy that foretells his descent into evil and become a hero while being shunned and feared by his hometown’s people. Ne Zha, who lost his physical body after the events of the first film, is reborn in the second movie and embarks on a quest to complete three trials needed to become immortal, while also saving his town and family during the process.<\/p>\n<\/ins>\n A24 announced a variety of voice actors, including Michelle Yeoh, who played Ne Zha’s mother Lady Yin, in addition to the trailer. Aleks Le, Damien Haas, and Crystal Lee are among the actors who play in the English dub.<\/p>\n The first “Ne Zha<\/strong>“, which was written and directed by Yang Yu (also known as Jiaozi), was highly successful upon release, making over $700 million. The sequel proved to be a genuine phenomenon, earning $2.2 billion worldwide.<\/p>\n 2025’s highest-grossing movie, the highest-grossing animated and non-English film of all time, and the fifth highest-grossing movie ever made are all attributed to its massive figure. The film’s initial release in the U.S. by CMC Pictures on February 14 caused almost no revenue from the U.S.<\/p>\n On August 22, the English version of “Ne Zha 2<\/strong>” will be shown in IMAX, 3D, and other premium formats.
