{"id":31511,"date":"2025-09-18T15:26:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T19:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=31511"},"modified":"2025-09-20T09:38:45","modified_gmt":"2025-09-20T13:38:45","slug":"director-matt-reeves-reveals-details-about-the-batman-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=31511","title":{"rendered":"Director Matt Reeves Reveals Details About &#8216;The Batman: Part 2&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0716257\/\">Matt Reeves<\/a> has confirmed that filming for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt19850008\/\"><em><strong>The Batman: Part 2<\/strong><\/em><\/a> will start in April or May of 2026, with pre-production already underway. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1500155\/\">Robert Pattinson<\/a> will be reprising his role as the Gotham hero, but there will be changes in how his character will be developed.<br \/><br \/>In a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/news\/matt-reeves-batman-2-villain-never-been-in-movie-1236522943\/\">interview<\/a> with Josh Horowitz, Reeves declared how the new sequel would be focusing more on the character of Bruce Wayne. He declared: \u201cThe first story is so much about the Batman, and so I always wanted in the movies to make sure that\u2026 we never lose Rob at the center of these stories.\u201d\u00a0<br \/><br \/>In his remarks, Reeves was somewhat ambivalent about how sidekick Robin would be included in the new production. He said, \u201cWell, sure, you talk about everything. There is probably not any character that we didn\u2019t talk about. What could this be? What could that be? That\u2019s part of the beginning of anything.\u201d Reeves also confirmed that Cristin Milioti\u2019s Sofia Falcone would not be making an appearance in the film.<\/p>\r\n<p><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/><br \/>In discussing how the production team is conceptualizing the villain, Reeves was quoted as saying, \u201cPicking the right villain that digs into what that does, that sort of goes into his past and his life. That was what drove that discussion. I won\u2019t tell you where we ended up, but we\u2019re super excited about it, and I will say it\u2019s never really been done in a movie before.\u201d <br \/><br \/>According to Reeves, <em><strong>The Batman: Part 2<\/strong><\/em> will remain exclusively a project of DC Elseworlds, and will be separate from James Gunn\u2019s DCU.
