Alice in Borderland<\/em><\/strong> may extend its time on the air after its recent dramatic Season 3 finale. Netflix, the streamer behind the acclaimed Japanese sci-fi show<\/a>, is hinting the project may continue in some form after all. There’s a potential for a fourth season of the drama. That possibility comes after the platform previously stated its intention to only air three seasons.<\/p>\n

Netflix’s original plan was to run the live-action show for the duration of the manga of the same name that it’s based on by Haro Aso. There is a conclusive ending to the screen adaptation, but there are still other storylines that can be explore on a television series.<\/p>\n

The show’s executives have discussed the possibility of continuing Alice in Borderland<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0Director Shinsuke Sato told RadioTimes<\/a>: “If you’re asking me whether I’d be interested or not, I would certainly say yes.” He also hopes to make a television series about the spin-off manga, Alice on Border Road<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Actor Tao Tsuchiya proposed<\/a> the idea of more story involving Arisu and Usagi’s child in the Borderland. “[Usagi] would love to see that child return [to the normal world], not just the two lead characters. The story is set to be familial. I think that could be really interesting.”<\/p>\n

The end of Alice in Borderland<\/em><\/strong>‘s third season shows all the cities that the earthquake hit. That indicates that there could be global spin-offs that follow other characters in the Borderland.<\/p>\n

The season 3 finale offers a firm conclusion to the Japanese show’s overall arc. Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and a pregnant Usagi (Tsuchiya) escape Borderland for the second time. They then return to work and life, and discuss baby names in the real world. Their surviving season 3 teammates, as well as fan-favorite characters from seasons 1 and 2, also make appearances. Their guest spots imply the series has wrapped up.<\/p>\n
