Charlie Kaufman gave an in-depth, career-spanning conversation during his presentation of short film, \u201c<strong>How to Shoot a Ghost&#8221; <\/strong>at at the Mostra de S\u00e3o Paulo in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Kaufman has confirmed that he&#8217;s discussing another film with Jonze, as per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldofreel.com\/blog\/2025\/10\/24\/charlie-kaufman-and-spike-jonze-in-talks-for-new-project-no-longer-writing-bennett-millers-ai-movie\">World of Reel<\/a> reports. Kaufman also confirmed he\u2019s dropped an AI-themed project he was writing for \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1210166\/?ref_=fn_all_ttl_1\"><strong>Moneyball<\/strong><\/a>\u201d director Bennett Miller.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jonze hasn&#8217;t been responsible for directing anything since 2013&#8217;s &#8220;<strong>Her<\/strong>,&#8221; that film is now so prescient for our times, and with AI currently advancing on overdrive, it is likely to become even more relevant as time goes on. No matter what, another collaboration between Jonze and Kaufman would be wonderful.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It&#8217;s absurd how long it&#8217;s been since they last worked together. Kaufman and Jonze broke out big with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0120601\/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_being%2520john%2520\"><strong>Being John Malkovich<\/strong><\/a>\u201d (1999) and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0268126\/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_Adaptation\"><strong>Adaptation<\/strong><\/a>\u201d (2002), but haven\u2019t made anything together since.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Kaufman is working on a new novel that centers on an actor who writes a book about acting, which has hints of &#8220;<strong>Adaptation<\/strong>&#8220;. His last book, &#8216;Antkind&#8217;, is a must-read for anyone who hasn&#8217;t read it yet.
