One year from the film\u2019s 2026 release, Lionsgate<\/a> has released a surprise teaser trailer, teaser poster and first look images for “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/strong><\/a>.” <\/span>The film adaptation of “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/strong>“will be released on November 20, 2026.<\/p>\n

“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/strong>” revisits the world of Panem and follows young Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) twenty-four years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the Fiftieth Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.<\/p>\n

<\/ins><\/p>\n

The film also stars Elle Fanning<\/a> as a younger version of Effie Trinket, who was originally played by Elizabeth Banks. Ralph Fiennes plays President Coriolanus Snow, previously portrayed by Donald Sutherland in the original films and Tom Blyth in the \u201cBallad of Songbirds and Snakes\u201d prequel.<\/p>\n

Kieran Culkin will play Caesar Flickerman, the TV host of the Hunger Games, played by Stanley Tucci in the original films. Jesse Plemons will play a younger version of Plutarch Heavensbee, played by Philip Seymour Hoffman in the \u201cMockingjay\u201d films. Kelvin Harrison Jr., Glenn Close, Maya Hawke, Mckenna Grace, Billy Porter, Whitney Peak, Ben Wang, Molly McCann, Iona Bell and Percy Daggs IV are also among the cast.<\/p>\n

Francis Lawrence will direct from a screenplay adaptation by Billy Ray. Color Force\u2019s Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson will produce. Cameron MacConomy will executive produce. The five films in the franchise have taken in over $3.3 billion at the box office.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0Sunrise on the Reaping sold 1.5 million copies in its first week on sale in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The 1.2 million copies sold in the U.S. are twice the first week sales of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and three times the first week sales of Mockingjay.<\/p>\n
