Johan Renck, a Swedish filmmaker who received an Emmy for directing HBO’s acclaimed mini-series “Chernobyl<\/strong>,” will be in charge of directing the latest live-action “Assassin’s Creed<\/strong>” TV series.<\/p>\n He is collaborating with Netflix for the third time, having previously directed the first two episodes of “Bloodline<\/strong>” and the Adam Sandler-led feature “Spaceman<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n Renck was previously the director of “The Last Panthers<\/strong>” and directed prominent episodes of “Breaking Bad<\/strong>,” “The Walking Dead<\/strong>,” and “Vikings<\/strong>“, among others.<\/p>\n He was initially to direct he premieres of HBO’s “The Last of Us<\/strong>” and “Dune: Prophecy<\/strong>“, but opted out because of scheduling issues and creative differences.<\/p>\n And here\u2019s the\u00a0 <\/span>synopsis says about the \u201cAssassin\u2019s Creed<\/strong>\u201d show will center \u201con the secret war between two shadowy factions \u2013 one set on determining mankind\u2019s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will. The series follows its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity\u2019s destiny.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/ins>\n The game series, which has been sold over 230 million copies worldwide since 2007, is about the war between the rival secret orders of the Assassins and the Templars. Each entry is based on a different time period, and can be accessed from today via a machine called the Animus.<\/p>\n Toby Wallace (\u201cEuphoria<\/strong>\u201d), Lola Petticrew (\u201cSay Nothing<\/strong>\u201d), Zachary Hart (\u201cSlow Horses<\/strong>\u201d) and Laura Marcus (\u201cDeath by Lightning<\/strong>\u201d) star as regulars. Roberto Patino (\u201cWestworld<\/strong>“) and David Wiener (\u201cHalo<\/strong>“)are serving as creators, showrunners and executive producers.
