To be directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001410\/\">Lawrence Kasdan<\/a>, the film will feature interviews with other comedians as well as never-before-seen archival footage. <br \/>Short, who is now starring in the role of director Oliver Puntum in Hulu\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt11691774\/\"><em><strong>Only Murders in the Building<\/strong><\/em>,<\/a> first came to prominence as a writer and performer on SCTV. He won a Tony award for the Broadway show <em>Little Me<\/em>. Other theater credits include appearances in <em>The Goodbye Girl<\/em> and the autobiographical <em>Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p>The 75-year-old Short continues to star in <em><strong>Only Murders in the Building,<\/strong><\/em> alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000188\/\">Steve Martin<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1411125\/\">Selena Gomez<\/a>. He says he has no plans to retire. In June, he was quoted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/martin-short-documentary-netflix-1236478471\/\"><em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> <\/a>as saying: \u201cI\u2019m not a believer in retirement just based on a number\/ It\u2019s designed for people who don\u2019t really like their job and then they want to relax or they\u2019re tired or they just want to do something else. But I like my job.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\u00a0<br \/><br \/>Over the years, Short has also appeared in several films with his longtime colleague Steve Martin, including <em><strong>Father of the Bride<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>Three Amigos,<\/strong><\/em> In 2018, he and Martin appeared in the Netflix special\u00a0 <em><strong>An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life.<\/strong><\/em> <br \/><br \/>This is not the first time Lawrence Kasdan will have worked with Short; in 1999 they had collaborated on <em><strong>Mumford<\/strong><\/em>. Kasdan\u2019s directorial portfolio includes <em><strong>The Big Chili<\/strong> <\/em>and <em><strong>Body Heat<\/strong><\/em>. He also wrote screenplays for <em><strong>Raiders of the Lost Ark<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>The Body Guard<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>The Empire Strikes Back<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>Return of the Jedi<\/strong><\/em>, and <em><strong>The Force Awakens<\/strong><\/em>.<br \/><br \/><em><strong>Marty, Life is Short<\/strong><\/em> will be produced by director Kasdan together with Sara Bernstein, Meredith Kaulfers, Christopher St. John, Justin Wilkes, and Blair Foster.
