After Quentin Tarantino criticized his performance in “There Will Be Blood<\/strong>“, Paul Dano has finally addressed the issue. Tarantino called Dano, a nominee for an Emmy, Golden Globe, and Indie Spirit Award, the “weakest f—ing actor in SAG.’<\/p>\n Ahead of a 20th anniversary screening of \u201cLittle Miss Sunshine<\/strong>\u201d at this year\u2019s\u00a0Sundance\u00a0Film Festival, Dano was asked about Tarantino\u2019s comment but was beat to the punch by co-star Toni Collette, who said: \u201cAre we really going there? Fuck that guy! He must\u2019ve been high\u2026 it was just confusing. Who does that?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThat was really nice,\u201d Dano told\u00a0Variety<\/i>. \u201cI was also incredibly grateful that the world spoke up for me so I didn\u2019t have to.\u201d<\/p>\n The Tarantino controversy was weighed in by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, who directed “Little Miss Sunshine<\/strong>.” Dayton called Tarantino’s remarks an ’embarrassment’, adding: ‘I can only think that his rawness of his performance made Tarantino uncomfortable. He couldn’t be easily filed.’ Faris mentioned that the people who came out to defend Paul were interesting because they immediately loved him and his intelligence.<\/p>\n
