A live-action film adaptation of the famous “Astro Boy<\/strong>” manga and anime franchise is expected to be directed by Jason Reitman, the director of “Saturday Night” and “Ghostbusters: Afterlife<\/strong>\u201d, The InSneider<\/a>\u00a0broke the report.<\/p>\n

The Japanese manga Astro Boy was created and drawn by Osamu Tezuka.It was modeled after the fictional robot character \u201cTenma Hiyu,\u201d the son of a doctor who died in a traffic accident, who is the protagonist within the work. Based on Atom, a character from the manga series Ambassador Atom serialized from April 1951 to March 1952, it was serialized from April 1952 to March 1968 and adapted into a 30-minute television animation series.<\/p>\n

Reitman and his \u201cGhostbusters: Frozen Empire<\/strong>\u201d director Gil Kenan are tackling the project which has been set up at Sony Pictures. Specifics of their involvement is unclear at this point though, at present, Reitman is not attached to direct. Sony is reportedly seeking writers to turn Astro Boy into a four-quadrant family film.<\/p>\n

For the better part of 2025,\u00a0 <\/span>Reitman was actually working on an Apple TV adaptation of \u201cI\u2019m Glad My Mom Died,\u201d starring Jennifer Aniston, but just days before cameras were set to roll, creative clashes ensued, and he existed the project.<\/p>\n

The project is in early development with no production or release date at present, and no plot details of any kind available. Imagi Animation Studios and Summit Entertainment released an animated \u201cAstro Boy<\/strong>\u201d movie in 2009.<\/p>\n<\/ins>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
