{"id":33848,"date":"2026-03-20T22:26:40","date_gmt":"2026-03-21T02:26:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=33848"},"modified":"2026-03-20T22:26:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-21T02:26:40","slug":"tarantino-stallone-team-up-to-write-direct-1930s-gangster-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?p=33848","title":{"rendered":"Tarantino &#038; Stallone Team Up to Write\/Direct 1930s Gangster Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u00a9 <\/b>Courtesy of Paramount +\/ Tulsa King<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=Quentin+Tarantino\">Quentin Tarantino<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=Sylvester+Stallone\">Sylvester Stallone<\/a> are said to be co-directors and writers of a 1930s-set gangster series, according to a new report on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/03\/20\/quentin-tarantino-partners-with-sly-stallone-for-new-series\/\">TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The outlet states that the pair is planning to produce a six-episode limited series featuring a full array of gangster elements, including shootouts, boxing, showgirls, brass bands, etc. Tarantino has consistently shown his interest in the 1930s gangster genre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">At one point, it was reported that he was considering directing a &#8220;<strong>Star Trek<\/strong>&#8221; film that was based on an episode from the classic series in which the crew visits a planet with an Earth-like 1920s gangster culture.<\/p>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n<p class=\"p1\">Even though there were rumors of Stallone being cast in both &#8220;<strong>Jackie Brown<\/strong>&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>Death Proof<\/strong>&#8221; at one point, it is surprising that Stallone has never worked with Tarantino before.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Although there is no plot for this series yet, if it does happen as expected, it would be Stallone&#8217;s first time directing since 2010&#8217;s &#8220;<strong>The Expendables<\/strong>&#8221; and his first time directing anything for television.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to the report, the show will be recorded in black and white with 1930s cameras.
