BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG<\/strong> <\/a>streamed live from the historic Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, this monumental performance celebrates the release of BTS\u2019 highly anticipated new album,\u00a0ARIRANG<\/i>. BTS members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook return on the global stage for the comeback of the decade.<\/p>\nThe setlist from the evening included a vivid mix of fan-favorite BTS hits, as well as never-before-seen performances of songs off of the septet\u2019s newly released album,\u00a0ARIRANG<\/i>. The performance began with a fusion of\u00a0traditional Korean instruments and modern elements to build a sense of anticipation. As 50 dancers marched in a grid formation on the upper platform of Gyeongbokgung Palace, splitting to the sides to form a path for BTS\u2019\u00a0 entrance, announcing the official start of the performance, \u201cHello, Seoul! We\u2019re back.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBody to Body,\u201d which incorporates a melody from the traditional Korean folk song\u00a0\u201cArirang<\/strong>,\u201d<\/i>\u00a0opened the event to roaring cheers from the audience. From its very first note, the performance set an emotional and symbolic tone while stunning visuals and intricate choreography immediately immersed\u00a0 the audience into the moment. The larger-than-life show featured a 12-song setlist, including eight tracks from the\u00a0ARIRANG<\/i>\u00a0album performed live for the very first time (\u201cBody to Body,\u201d \u201cHooligan,\u201d \u201c2.0,\u201d \u201cAliens,\u201d \u201cFYA,\u201d \u201cSWIM,\u201d \u201cLike Animals,\u201d \u201cNORMAL\u201d).<\/p>\nFor the performance of \u201cAliens,\u201d a track that portrays the group forging new cultural standards on their own terms, the members owned the stage with undeniable presence, while black-and-white\u00a0geongongamri<\/i>\u00a0graphics flowed dynamically across the LED screen.\u00a0Geongongamri<\/i>\u00a0refers to the four black trigrams located in the corners of the South Korean flag. They represent the harmony and movement of cosmic forces\u2014heaven, earth, water, and fire.<\/p>\n
BTS further electrified the crowd with a run of their most iconic hits. \u201cButter\u201d and \u201cDynamite\u201d injected the venue with bright, infectious energy, prompting mass sing-alongs, while \u201cMIC Drop\u201d delivered a powerful, swagger-filled performance.<\/p>\n
The visuals throughout the performance of \u201cNORMAL,\u201d \u201cLike Animals,” “SWIM,\u201d and \u201cFYA\u201d subtly incorporated symbols inspired by the\u00a0Taegeuk<\/i>\u2019s\u00a0Geon, Gon, Gam<\/i>, and\u00a0Ri<\/i>\u00a0patterns, weaving the album\u2019s theme of identity and roots throughout the overall production.<\/p>\n
The standout moment of the event was the performance of their lead single \u201cSWIM,\u201d showcasing BTS\u2019 powerful stage presence. They performed with elegance and precision, skillfully expressing the song\u2019s emotional depth. BTS commanded the chorus with controlled, deliberate movements, reflecting a more mature sensibility that mirrors the emotional core of\u00a0ARIRANG<\/i>.<\/p>\n
As the night came to an end, RM delivered his final message, \u201cNo matter what happens, we promise to keep swimming together,\u201d followed by renditions of \u201cDynamite\u201d and \u201cMikrokosmos.\u201d During the performance of \u201cMikrokosmos,\u201d the LED cubes gradually lit up with stars, which then expanded into sweeping video projections across the Gwanghwamun walls.
