Neon International\u00a0 \u00a0will be managing the film&#8217;s distribution in North America.<\/p>\r\n<p>Winding Refn, who was born in Copenhagen in 1970 and partially grew up in New York, wrote the script with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm6784814\/\">Esti Giordani<\/a> and is also serving as the producer. Executive producers areTakuma Takasaki, Kimberly Willming, Christina Erritzoe, and Lene Borglum.<br \/><br \/>The project will be Mubi\u2019s first feature film since 2017, when it released &#8220;<em><strong>The Neon Demon&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>. &#8220;<em><strong>Her Private Hell&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> is expected to open later this year at the Cannes Film Festival.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1774669342741533\" data-ad-slot=\"1211148813\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\u00a0<br \/><br \/>A number of other films by Winding Refn had recently premiered at Cannes, including &#8220;<em><strong>Only God Forgives&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> in 2013 and &#8220;<em><strong>Drive&#8221;<\/strong> <\/em>in 2011, the latter of which earned him a best director prize.\u00a0 Winding Refn has also created a number of television specials including &#8220;<strong>Too Old to Die Young&#8221;<\/strong> for Amazon, &#8220;<em><strong>Copenhagen Cowboy&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> for Netflix, and a children\u2019s series for the BBC and ZDF entitled &#8220;<em><strong>The Famous Five&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>. His first English-language film, &#8220;<em><strong>Fear X&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>(2003) starred John Turturro and won a best screenplay award at the 2004 Fantasporto Film Festival.<br \/><br \/>Shot in Tokyo last year, &#8220;<em><strong>Her <\/strong><strong>Private Hell&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> stars an international cast that includes Sophia Thatcher, Charles Melton, Havana Rose Liu, Kristina Frusetti, Diego Calva, Shori Kutsuna, Aoi Yamada, and Hidetoji Nishijima.<br \/>. <br \/>Mubi\u2019s recent slate of offerings also includes Joachim Trier\u2019s Oscar-winning &#8220;<em><strong>Sentimental Value&#8221;,<\/strong><\/em> Kleber de Mendon\u00e7a Filho\u2019s &#8220;<em><strong>The Secret Agent&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>, Jafar Panahi\u2019s &#8220;<em><strong>It Was Just an Accident&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>, and Akinola Davies\u2019 &#8220;<em><strong>My Father\u2019s Shadow&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>, all of which were shown at Cannes.
