Nobuhiro Hosoki<\/strong> grew up watching American films since he was a kid; he decided to go to the United States thanks to seeing the artistry of Stanley Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange.\u201d After graduating from film school, he worked as an assistant director on TV Tokyo\u2019s program called “Morning Satellite” at the New York branch office but he didn\u2019t give up on his interest in cinema. He became a film reporter for via Yahoo Japan News. In that role, he writes news articles, picks out headliners for Yahoo News, as well as interviewing Hollywood film directors, actors, and producers working in the domestic circuit in the USA. He also does production interviews for Japanese distributors of American films and for in-theater on-sale programs. He is now the editor-in-chief of Cinemadailyus.com while continuing his work for Japan.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

My Life in Versailles<\/strong> : We first met Violet and R\u00e9gis in 2020 when the short My Life in Versailles took home NYICFF\u2019s Grand Prize Audience Award for best animated short. We couldn\u2019t be more thrilled to bring them back for their feature debut! Life at the Chateau of Versailles isn\u2019t always a piece of gateau, or cake. Violet\u2019s uncle R\u00e9gis puts in hours of hard work as caretaker of the grounds, and the home they share is but a workman\u2019s petit quarters, not a gilded corner of the palace proper. It\u2019s a big change from the Paris apartment where Violet lived before she lost her parents. But because her uncle\u2019s heart is so big, she manages to feel right at home. Full of simple lines rich with color as adapted from the award-winning graphic novel, this story takes a dash of bande dessin\u00e9e and a teaspoon of Truffaut to create a true pi\u00e8ce de resistance! Chef\u2019s kiss!<\/p>\n
