The Competition only has one American film: Ira Sachs.<\/p>\n<p>Sachs will screen\u00a0The Man I Love, a feature set in 1980s New York. The film has been described as a \u201cmusical fantasia of a city under duress.\u201d This morning, Cannes chief Thierry Fr\u00e9maux said the film deals with the AIDS crisis. Sachs wrote the screenplay with Mauricio Zacharias.
