The official U.S. trailer for the sci-fi drama “Sheep in the Box<\/strong>,” directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda, a renowned filmmaker of “Shoplifters<\/strong>” and “Monster<\/strong>,” made its debut in the competition section at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.<\/p>\n The tale takes place in a Japan just a bit ahead in time, where drones handle deliveries, vehicles are powered by electricity, and generative AI has infiltrated many aspects of domestic life.<\/p>\n Architect Otone (Haruka Ayase) and her carpenter husband Kensuke (Daigo) are deeply mourning the loss of their young son.<\/p>\n The company produces AI-controlled life-like figures of the departed, allowing families a replacement and a sense of continuity.
