But the extent of Gerwig&#8217;s involvement was confirmed in<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2021\/film\/news\/greta-gerwig-barbie-movie-director-margot-robbie-noah-baumbach-1235015427\/\"> Variety<\/a>. Robbie also told variety that the movie serves as \u201ca great opportunity to put some positivity out in the world and a chance to be aspirational for younger kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to starring in the movie, Robbie also produces the film, under her LuckyChap Entertainment production, which is also produced Oscar-nominated film, \u201cPromising Young Woman.\u201d Production is expected to begin\u00a0at Leavesden Studios in London in early 2022 for an expected 2023 theatrical release.<\/p>\n<p>Gerwig and Baumbach previously collaborated together on the films <b><i>Frances Ha, Mistress America<\/i><\/b><i> <\/i>and <b><i>Greenberg<\/i><\/b>. They are currently working on another movie called <b><i>White Noise<\/i><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Robbie&#8217;s credits include <b><i>Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Bombshell, Birds of Prey, Suicide Squad<\/i><\/b> and <b><i>I, Tonya<\/i><\/b>.
