A24<\/a>‘s Backrooms<\/a> is set to premiere on streaming platforms after having a successful theatrical release earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Backrooms, a film produced by A24, is scheduled for streaming following its impressive theatrical run. Critical acclaim for the film was widespread, making it A24’s top-grossing release to date.<\/p>\n

Backrooms is a science fiction psychological horror film directed by Kane Parsons<\/a> and written by Will Soodik. It is based on Parsons\u2019 web series of the same name, which itself was inspired by the 2019 \u201cBackrooms\u201d creepypasta.<\/p>\n

The movie follows Clark, a furniture store owner and failed architect, who discovers a portal in his basement that leads to the Backrooms, an endless extra-dimensional labyrinth of yellow rooms and long corridors. After narrowly escaping from the place, he tells his therapist Mary Kline, all about it. But Mary remains skeptical.<\/p>\n

However, when Mary receives a strange answering-machine message from Clark saying he will not return from the Backrooms, she grows concerned. Mary then decides to head to the Backrooms herself, where she experiences the true horrors of the place firsthand.<\/p>\n

Backrooms marks Parsons\u2019 feature directorial debut. The movie stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Clark and Renate Reinsve as Dr. Mary Kline.
