Here’s the latest trailer for Toho’s “Godzilla Minus Zero<\/strong><\/a>“, spotlighting new monster\u2019s lightning-fast gravity beams and Godzilla’s famous atomic breath.<\/p>\n

This new look at the King of the Monsters and his main rival, as presented in the latest iteration, made its debut at New York Comic Con 2026<\/a>. Toho still refrained from showing actual new monster yet again,\u00a0 <\/span>but there’s still plenty of new footage to see in the one-minute video.<\/p>\n

Noriko Oishi (Minami Hamabe<\/a>) managed to survive Godzilla’s initial attack, right? The second full-length trailer of “Godzilla Minus Zero<\/strong>” hints at revealing the answer to the posed question. The upcoming show promises a lot of carnage as the three-headed cage destroys any airborne structures on sight.<\/p>\n

You can observe how the sequel’s reinstated human crew will “respond with the same measure” next month in this trailer. With less than a month till its debut, it appears the directors of the “Godzilla Minus One<\/strong>” sequel plan to keep the entire new monster reveal just for those who choose to see the movie in theaters.<\/p>\n

The NYCC presence of “Godzilla Minus Zero<\/strong>” extended beyond the electrifying new trailer. Producer Kazuaki Kishida, visual effects artist Tatsuji Nojima, compositor Natsuko Inoue, and sound designer Hisafumi Takeuchi met in New York for a panel discussing the sequel and its creation.<\/p>\n

Nojima, who walked away from “Godzilla Minus One<\/strong>” as the first Gen Z Oscar winner in the visual effects category, said his time working on the 2023 film started simply as a hobby before director Takashi Yamazaki<\/a> took note of his abilities. Kishida joked, “I don’t know if I’d have a job right now” if not for the 25-year-old VFX artist’s work, but Nojima isn’t the only younger member of the crew.<\/p>\n

“There are even younger team members on the “Godzilla Minus Zero<\/strong>” team \u2013 22, 23,” Kishida said via translator. “They’re talented enough to be given an entire cut or a scene to manage on their own. Director Yamazaki really likes working with young talent. I think he’s very open-minded, and he absorbs whatever fresh takes or new ways younger artists are approaching different problems, and how they’re solving it. There isn’t really an age hierarchy in his organization. Everyone works very collaboratively, and I think it’s a very good environment for young artists to try and flex what they have.”<\/p>\n

With a budget of $15 million, the initial film earned $116 million, setting a new record as the highest-grossing Japanese live-action debut in 2023. It also ranked third among non-English-language films in U.S. markets, praised by both critics and audiences for its stellar reviews. The new film has scored a stunning 95% (8.5\/10) on Rotten Tomatoes, essentially on par with the 99% (8.5\/10) of its predecessor.<\/p>\n
