The Suicide Squad<\/strong><\/em> and Altered Carbon<\/strong><\/em> actor Joel Kinnaman is under investigation after a woman accused him of rape, according to officials in Sweden.\u00a0<\/span>The <\/span>Swedish Prosecution Authority confirmed the investigation to E! News<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>“The prosecutor got the case today and has hardly been able to look at it. She has said there is a need for further investigative matters before she can make a decision,” a representative for the prosecutor\u2019s office said Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Few details pertaining to the case were released, but the spokesperson said it is likely investigators will want to speak with the actor.\u00a0<\/span>His publicist told TMZ<\/a><\/span> and The New York Post<\/a> that the woman who made the complaint contacted police after he requested and was granted a restraining order against her.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kinnaman addressed the situation on Instagram last week.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>He said he had consensual sex with Gabriella Magnusson, a model known professionally as Bella Davis, but that she threatened to ruin his reputation unless he paid her and helped advance her career.<\/span><\/p>\n

His post was in response to Davis\u2019 earlier online allegations that he sexually assaulted her twice, then tried to prevent her from reporting it, The Daily Beast<\/a> said.<\/span><\/p>\n
