Marcia Lucas, the acclaimed editor of the original Star Wars<\/strong><\/em> trilogy, has expressed her unhappiness with the way Disney approached the franchise’s recent sequel trilogy. The filmmaker, who won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing in 1977 for A New<\/b><\/i> Hope<\/b><\/em>, stated that she wasn’t very happy with the final three movies in the series. She noted that she feels producer and Luscafilm president, Kathleen Kennedy and The Force Awakens<\/strong><\/i> and The Rise of Skywalker<\/i><\/strong> writer-director-producer J.J. Abrams “don’t get it,” Variety<\/a> is reporting.<\/p>\n

Lucas, who was married to George Lucas, the creator of the franchise, between 1969-1983, said “the storylines are terrible” in the sequel trilogy. She made the statements while the late Rinzler, who once worked as an executive editor at Lucasfilm, interviewed her in between the releases of The Last Jedi<\/strong><\/em> and The Rise of Skywalker<\/strong><\/em>, for his newly released book, Howard Kazanjian: A Producer’s Life<\/strong><\/em>. The book examines Kazanjian’s life, including his time producing the Star Wars<\/strong><\/em> series.<\/p>\n
