Nine Perfect Strangers, Black Monday<\/strong> <\/em>and Girls Trip<\/strong><\/em> actress Regina Hall has signed on to star in Universal’s planned sequel to the 1988 Robert De Niro-Charles Grodin buddy comedy, Midnight Run<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter <\/a>said Hall will also produce the project, alongside Tribeca Film Festival co-founders De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, and 2021 American Music Awards ceremony producer Jesse Collins.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn Nine-Nine\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>screenwriter Aeysha Carr is penning the film, but no details regarding its plot have been disclosed yet,\u00a0additional casting — and whether De Niro will appear on screen — haven’t been revealed yet either.The original movie followed a bounty hunter (De Niro) and an accountant (Grodin,) who is afraid to fly, as they go on a cross-country road trip to evade FBI agents and gangsters.<\/p>\n
