Tom Holland is set to continue playing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) Spider-Man, after speculation arose earlier this month about the actor’s future with the superhero franchise. Amy Pascal, one of the producers on Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/em><\/strong>, said that even though Sony Pictures Releasing won’t be unveiling the drama until December 17, the distributor is already “getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel,” IGN<\/a> is reporting.<\/p>\n

Holland caused a lot of speculation among fans earlier this month, when he said that he wasn’t sure if he’ll continue playing Peter Parker after the release of his character’s third solo film in the MCU.<\/p>\n

However, in an interview with Fandango<\/a>, Pascal confirmed that the Saturn Award-winning performer will continue in the role for at least one more feature.<\/p>\n

“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel \u2013 [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,” the long-time Spider-Man<\/em><\/strong> producer explained. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel\u2026we’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.<\/p>\n

Pascal also revealed that “Marvel and Sony are going to keep going together as partner\u2026We all want to keep making movies together.”<\/p>\n

However, Pascal also noted that Sony’s approach to superhero films isn’t solely centered on the multiverse it has created with the MCU. “The parallel universes make for so many interesting stories, but I don’t think that every single movie is going to end up taking place in the multiverse,” she shared.<\/p>\n

While Holland will continue playing Spider-Man in at least one more movie, Pascal stated that No Way Home<\/strong><\/em> will be “the culmination of the Homecoming<\/strong><\/em> trilogy, of the story of Tom Holland becoming the Spider-Man that we’ve all been waiting for him to be.”<\/p>\n

In addition to Holland, No Way Home<\/strong><\/em> also stars Benedict Cumberbatch, who’s reprising his role of Dr. Stephen Strange. The supporting cast also includes Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon (50 States of Fright<\/strong><\/em>) as Ned, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Jon Favreau as Happy, Tony Revolori (The French Dispatch<\/strong><\/em>) as Flash and Hannibal Buress (Tag<\/strong><\/em>) as Coach Wilson.<\/p>\n

The drama will also feature the return of multiple actors from previous Spider-Man<\/strong><\/em> franchises, reprising their roles of villains who are looking to take down the titular superhero. Amongst the returning stars are Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2<\/strong><\/em>) as Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe (Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0trilogy), Jamie Foxx (The Amazing Spider-Man 2<\/strong><\/em>) as Electro, Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3<\/strong><\/em>) as Sandman and Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man<\/strong><\/em>) as Lizard.<\/p>\n

In Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/em><\/strong>, which was directed by Jon Watts, the eponymous character is no longer able to separate his normal life as Peter Parker from the high stakes of being a superhero, after his identity was publicly revealed.
