As Jackson navigates the unexpected introduction of a part of his past he never knew would return, Ruth is a source of stability for him who also won\u2019t simply let him off the hook. The film is particularly potent due to the strong performances from Collins and Parker in these roles. Collins won a special jury prize for his acting at the Sundance Film Festival and now contends for an Independent Spirit Award for this film.<\/p>\n<p>I had the chance to speak to Collins and Parker about building this onscreen relationship and a few memorable roles from their extensive resumes. But the years \u2013 and injuries \u2013 have taken a toll on his body, throwing into question his ability to continue his lifelong passion.
