Brad Pitt<\/a> is leading the ensemble cast of another high-profile Hollywood film, Bullet Train<\/strong><\/em>, after he won his first acting Academy Award for 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood<\/i><\/strong>. The upcoming Bullet Train<\/em><\/strong>, which is based on the Japanese novel of the same name by K\u014dtar\u014d Isaka, will also star Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry and Sandra Bullock Collider<\/a> is reporting.<\/p>\n

Zak Olkewiczs adapted Isaka’s book into the script for Bullet Train<\/em><\/strong>, which is set on the titular Japanese mode of transportation. The story follows the eponymous train as it’s traveling from Tokyo to Morioka with very few stops on its journey. Onboard the vehicle are five assassins, all of whom are working individual assignments.<\/p>\n

Unbeknownst to them, they are all interconnected. Once the assassins start to realize what is truly going on, the killers have to fight for their survival amongst each other on their way to discovering the secrets that are awaiting them at their destination.<\/p>\n

In the action thriller, Pitt plays the lead role of Ladybug, one of the assassins on board the titular bullet train. King is starring as Prince, a fellow assassin, while Taylor-Johnson is portraying Tangerine and Henry is playing another assassin, Lemon in the movie. Bullock has taken on the role that was initially meant for Lady Gaga.<\/p>\n

Pitt’s next high-profile ensemble blockbuster is now set to be released in theaters, IMAX and large premium formats on July 15, 2022. Bullet Train<\/strong><\/em>‘s studio, Sony Pictures, pushed the feature back three months from it’s original distribution date of April 8, according to The Wrap<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The change in release date for the film comes after two other high-profile, anticipated features received the same distribution weekend. If Bullet Train<\/em><\/strong> stayed in its original slot, it would have competed against Paramount Picture’s live-action\/CGI sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 2<\/strong><\/em>, and the viking drama, The Northman<\/em><\/strong>, from The Witch<\/em><\/strong> and The Lighthouse<\/em><\/strong> filmmaker, Robert Eggers.<\/p>\n

Filming for Bullet Train<\/em><\/strong> began on November 16, 2020, and lasted until this past March. The movie was shot in the Los Angeles area, reportedly due to safety concerns over traveling during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The thriller is being produced and directed by David Leitch, who previously worked with Pitt when he served on the stunt team for Fight Club<\/strong><\/em>. He went on to garner more fame and recognition in Hollywood after he co-helmed John Wick<\/strong><\/em> with Chad Stahelski.<\/p>\n

Since then, Leitch has become one of the most highly sought-after action directors in the film industry. He went on to helm his his first solo feature with the Charlize Theron-led Atomic Blonde<\/strong><\/em> in 2017.
