Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies\u2014Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright)\u2014amongst the city\u2019s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.<\/p>\n
When a killer targets Gotham\u2019s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World\u2019s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle\/aka Catwoman (Zo\u00eb Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot\/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton\/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator\u2019s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.<\/p>\n

Starring alongside Robert Pattinson (\u201cTenet,\u201d \u201cThe Lighthouse\u201d) as Gotham\u2019s famous and infamous cast of characters are Zo\u00eb Kravitz (\u201cBig Little Lies,\u201d \u201cFantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald\u201d); Paul Dano (\u201cLove & Mercy,\u201d \u201c12 Years a Slave\u201d); Jeffrey Wright (\u201cNo Time to Die,\u201d \u201cWestworld\u201d); John Turturro (the \u201cTransformers\u201d films, \u201cThe Plot Against America\u201d); Peter Sarsgaard (\u201cThe Magnificent Seven,\u201d \u201cInterrogation\u201d) as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Jayme Lawson (\u201cFarewell Amor\u201d) as mayoral candidate Bella Re\u00e1l; with Andy Serkis (the \u201cPlanet of the Apes\u201d films, \u201cBlack Panther\u201d); and Colin Farrell (\u201cThe Gentlemen,\u201d \u201cFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them\u201d).<\/p>\n
Reeves (\u201cThe Planet of the Apes\u201d franchise) directed from a screenplay by Reeves & Peter Craig, based on characters from DC. Batman was created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. Dylan Clark (the \u201cPlanet of the Apes\u201d films) and Reeves produced the film, with Michael E. Uslan, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo and Simon Emanuel serving as executive producers.<\/p>\n
The director\u2019s behind-the-scenes creative team included Oscar-nominated director of photography Greig Fraser (\u201cDune,\u201d \u201cLion\u201d); Reeves\u2019 \u201cPlanet of the Apes\u201d production designer, James Chinlund, and editor, William Hoy; editor Tyler Nelson (\u201cRememory\u201d); and Oscar-winning costume designer Jacqueline Durran (\u201c1917,\u201d \u201cLittle Women,\u201d \u201cAnna Karenina\u201d).
