Actor Tom Hanks, director Robert Zemeckis, and writer Eric Roth are working on an adaptation of Richard McGuire\u2019s 2014 graphic novel <strong><em>Here<\/em><\/strong>, which is set in one room and follows the many things and peoples who have been in it over hundreds of thousands of years.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time that all three men have worked together since <strong><em>Forrest Gump<\/em><\/strong>, which won six Oscars, including Best Actor for Hanks, Best Director for Zemeckis, and Best Adapted Screenplay for Roth. Hanks and Zemeckis have collaborated a few times, starting with <strong><em>Cast Away<\/em><\/strong> in 2000, <strong><em>The Polar Express<\/em><\/strong> in 2004, <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/reviews\/film-review-finch-is-a-heartwarming-tribute-to-the-human-dog-robot-relationship\/\">Finch<\/a><\/em><\/strong> last year, which Zemeckis did not direct but produced, and next on the upcoming live-action <strong><em>Pinocchio<\/em><\/strong> remake. Roth wrote the screenplay for a 2011 Best Picture nominee, <strong><em>Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close<\/em><\/strong>, that starred Hanks.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Forrest Gump<\/em><\/strong> led Hanks to his second consecutive Oscar victory, following <strong><em>Philadelphia<\/em><\/strong> the year before. Since then, he has racked up three additional Oscar nominations and appeared in a handful of Best Picture nominees, including <strong><em>Captain Phillips<\/em>, <em>Bridge of Spies<\/em><\/strong>, and <strong><em>The Post<\/em><\/strong>. Zemeckis has directed a few films, most notably <strong><em>Flight<\/em>, <em>The Walk<\/em><\/strong>, and <strong><em>Allied<\/em><\/strong>. Roth just earned his sixth Oscar bid for Best Adapted Screenplay for penning <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/reviews\/dune-visual-grandeur-does-not-compensate-for-narrative-vacuity\/\">Dune<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, and his next project is <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/cinemadailyus.com\/?s=killers+of+the+flower+moon\">Killers of the Flower Moon<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, from director Martin Scorsese.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Here<\/em><\/strong> is set to be produced by Playtone and ImageMovers, and CAA brokered the auction package.
