The horror film Demonic<\/em>, from director Neill Blomkamp, will be distributed in the United States by IFC Midnight. The film, written and directed by Blomkamp, comes from AGC Studios and already has distribution from a number of different companies in Canada, Europe, Asia, and Oceania after a successful stint at EFM. Demonic<\/em> is slated for release on August 20th<\/sup>, 2021.<\/p>\n

Carly Pope, who previously starred in Blomkamp\u2019s second film, Elysium<\/em>, leads a cast that includes Chris William Martin and Michael Rogers as the main character in this supernatural horror film in which \u201ca young woman unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades old rift between mother and daughter are ruthlessly revealed.\u201d This marks Blomkamp\u2019s fourth feature film. His first, District 9<\/em>, earned multiple Oscar nominations, including one for Best Picture, for its sci-fi portrait of an apartheid system in place in South Africa for extraterrestrial aliens. His subsequent films, Elysium<\/em> and Chappie<\/em>, both presented a creative look at how society might function in the near future based on technological advances that allow history to repeat itself in only slightly modified ways.<\/p>\n
