The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, announced the winners of its 49th Annual Annie Awards on Saturday. The awards presented Studio Ghibli co-founder and executive director Toshio Suzuli with the prestigious Winsor McCay Award. Suzuki accepted the award in a subtitled video. He is the ninth Japanese person to win the award, with previous recipients are Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, Mamoru Oshii.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sony Animation\/Netflix\u2019s innovative animated film, \u201cThe Mitchells vs. The Machines\u201d led the 49th annual Annie Awards Saturday with eight wins, including best feature, direction and writing (Mike Rianda, Jeff Rowe), character design, production design, editorial, FX, and voice acting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
