According to a report in <a href=\"https:\/\/theankler.com\/p\/is-damon-lindelof-lucasfilms-next?s=w\"><i>The Ankler<\/i><\/a>, Jeff Sneider says that Damon Lindelof may be working on just such an item for Lucasfilm.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lindelof, who created <strong><em>T<\/em>he <i>Watchmen<\/i> <\/strong>and <strong><i>The Leftovers<\/i><\/strong> series for HBO, and also co-created <i>Lost<\/i> for ABC, had expressed interest in a new <i>Star Wars<\/i> product as early as 2020. He was quoted then as saying: &#8220;At some point, but certainly not in the immediate future. I feel like I would love to do something in the <i>Star Wars<\/i> universe. Maybe a decade from now when I would no longer be blamed for ruining it. That would be a hoot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neither Lindelof nor Lucasfilm responded to reporters\u2019 queries about the rumor, prompting B J Colangelo to comment on <i>Slashfilm<\/i> that their no-comment stance has been fueling speculation that \u201cthere might be some truth to the grapevine.\u201d Colangelo continued: \u201cIf the rumors are true, we should all brace ourselves for the impending nerdy discourse\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rumor or not, there\u2019s ample evidence that Lindelof\u2019s credentials would make him a likely candidate for such an undertaking. He co-produced <i>Star Trek<\/i> in 2009 and its sequel, <strong><i>Star Trek Into Darkness<\/i><\/strong>. In addition, he contributed his writing skills to a galaxy of genre films that include <i><strong>Cowboys vs. Aliens<\/strong>, <strong>The Hunt<\/strong>, <strong>Prometheus<\/strong>,<\/i> <strong><i>Tomorrowland<\/i><\/strong>, a<strong>nd <i>World War Z<\/i><\/strong>. More recently, he has been working on the <strong><i>Mrs. Davis<\/i><\/strong> series for Warner Bros. Television.
