The brouhaha started in 2019 when Heard published an op-ed in the Washington Post<\/em> alluding to earlier allegations that Depp had abused her. In the context of the #MeToo movement, she wrote of the backlash she\u2019d suffered since making her original allegations against Depp in 2016.
