The first trailer for “Project Hail Mary” was released by Amazon MGM. The sci-fi comedy starring Ryan Gosling features a middle school science teacher named Ryland Grace (Gosling) who wakes up on a spaceship and doesn’t remember who he is or how he got there.

He is required to finish his interstellar mission to save Earth from an astronomical catastrophe alone, until he comes across a mysterious alien who has traversed light years to save his own species from the same fate.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are the directors of the film that will be in theaters on March 20, 2026. Sandra Hüller and Milana Vayntrub also star in the film adaptation of author Andy Weir’s bestseller novel of the same name.

In April, Amazon MGM demonstrated footage from the movie at their Cinema Conn presentation. During the presentation, Gosling addressed the film as an “insanely ambitious story, massive in scope.” “We attempted to broadcast it on television, but it did not fit.”
