In December, the first trailer for “Superman” was released online and had a view count of more than 250 million, making it the highest ever for DC Comics and Warner Bros. The film features David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, the villain who has megalomania.
The new film focuses on the titular superhero, who made his way to Earth from the planet Krypton and grapples with his powers while blending in as journalist Clark Kent.
In addition to David and Rachel, the film also stars The film co-stars Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) and María Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer).
Since Zack Snyder’s 2013 “Man of Steel,'” which earned $670 million at the worldwide box office, this will be the first solo “Superman” film in over a decade.
The DC Universe timeline began with that movie and included titles such as “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Wonder Woman,” “Suicide Squad,” and “The Flash.” It ended with ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ in December 2023.
“Superman” is set to release July 11.
