A Japanese film production company, Toho made the big announcement late last year that a brand new installment in their most popular film franchise, “Godzilla.”
Now, Toho has unveiled a new title, and trailer for original king of monster called, “Godzilla Minus One” which will land his giant step on Dec 1 in U.S
In its 30th film in the series and marking the 70th anniversary of the birth of Godzilla, the 30-second special trailer depicts a terror of the city by knocking over buildings and completely devastating the already war-torn country.
“Godzilla Minus One” is written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki(“Always : Sunset on Third Street ’64,” “The Fighter Pilot,” and “The Great War of Archimedes“).
Since the first Ishirō Honda-directed Godzilla film graced Japanese theaters back in 1954, the titular character has become one of the most well-known figures in pop culture, not just in Japan, but globally. The film has since spawned different iterations with international spinoffs, including 2019’s “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” and 2021’s “Godzilla vs. Kong.” And Pluto TV is now streaming a 24/7 Godzilla Channel, which features a wealth of classic movies including films you won’t find on any other platform.
The film will open in Japan on November 3—just a year after being announced in November 2022, and 69 years to the day after Gojira’s wide release in Japan back in 1954.
