Toho International has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming king of the monsters film, “Godzilla Minus One” is out now, previewing more of the return of Godzilla in the first new Toho film “Shin Godzilla” since 2016.
The latest trailer shows off the incredible scale of the iconic kaiju that’s wreaking havoc in post-war Japan, when the country was still struggling following World War II as they try to rebuild.
The 37th installment in Toho’s long-running monster franchise, the film — which closed the Tokyo International Film Festival —
“Godzilla Minus One“ is written and directed by noted CG animator and VFX artist Takashi Yamazaki (“Lupin III: The First, “The Great War of Archimedes”). The film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando and Kuranosuke Sasaki.
“Godzilla Minus One” is set for a local release on Nov 3 from Toho, while the Glasgow-based distribution outfit Anime Limited will release the pic in UK and Irish cinemas on December 15. The wide rollout will also include IMAX and 4DX screens. Piece of Magic is handling European distribution.
Toho International will release in the US from December 1 in over 1000 theaters. The US roll out will begin with fan preview screenings in over 500 locations on November 29.
