The film follows an American sports broadcasting team that quickly adapts to sports reporting and live coverage of the athletes who were taken hostage in Israel.
Geogg, a young and ambitious production team member, is the focus of the story as they strive to show their worth to legendary TV executive Roone Arledge. Geoff’s unexpected leadership of the live coverage is aided by German interpreter Marianne and his mentor Marvin Bade. As the hostages’ lives hang in the balance, Geoff has to make tough decisions while facing his own moral compass as narratives shift and time ticks away. It highlights the media’s game-changing role in the incident, and how it affected future media coverage of such events.
