Warner Bros. Pictures has released a five-minute deleted scene from Matt Reeves’ superhero epic “The Batman,” the scene showcasing the sequences involving “Dunkirk” star Barry Keoghan as The Joker. In this scene, taking inspiration from Michael Mann’s “Manhunter,” Batman found out that the Riddler has killed the Gotham City police commissioner, leaving behind another off his cryptic notes addressed to the Batman. Disturbed by Riddler’s interest, Batman decides to try to get into Joker’s mindset.
In the finished film, Keoghan is only heard in the film’s final moments, as he taunts the captured Riddler in his e next cell. The movie doesn’t explicitly state who this giggling character is, listing Keoghan in the credits as “Unseen Arkham Prisoner.
”
The scene focus on a cool approach for Reeves to aware us that his Gotham is filled with danger. Reeves himself has said, “This is not yet the Joker as we know from the comics, merely an early version with Batman talking to the unnamed inmate whom he captured a year prior.
” Reeves has also previously hinted he won’t be the main villain of the second film.
