Hulu’s new limited series The Dropout dramatizes an incredible real-life scandal, one that saw young entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes (Amanda Seyfried) pitch a revolutionary new technology that could run hundreds of tests from just one drop of blood. The problem was that it didn’t work, which didn’t stop Elizabeth and her partner Sunny Balwani (Naveen Andrews) from pushing forward to implement it.
Among the extremely talented ensemble is actor Dylan Minnette, best known for his role in the TV series 13 Reasons Why. Minnette plays Tyler Shultz, the grandson of Theranos board member George Shultz (Sam Waterson), who begins working at the company and is disturbed by what he sees.
I had the chance to speak with Minnette about playing opposite Seyfried and Waterston and why the premise attracted him.
