Producer Craig Perry has been involved with the Final Destination franchise from the very beginning, and after 14 years away, Final Destination Bloodlines brings the 25-year-old franchise back to theaters with some new twists on the tried-and-true formula.
This installment, the sixth movie in the series, begins in the ’60s where a catastrophe at the Skyview Restaurant sets things rolling for hundreds of people to survive due to a premonition by a quick-thinking woman named Iris (Brec Bassinger), who is pregnant and was just proposed to by her boyfriend (Max Lloyd-Jones). Decades later, Iris’ grandaughter Stefani (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) and her entire family are being plagued by Death’s designs, because Death is so miffed about everyone surviving the Skyview incident that it starts to go after all the survivors’ families as well.
No one knows better what’s been involved in making these super-gory horror movies and why it took so long to get another one of them back into theaters than Mr. Perry, and you can watch Cinema Daily US’s extended interview with the producer above, where we talk about the entire franchise, how Bloodlines finally happened, the legendary Tony Todd, and also the legend of the log truck, a kill from Final Destination 2 that has become intrinsically linked to the entire franchise, with memes and everything!
