After “Super Troopers 2” became a reality, all Broken Lizard fans around the world thought Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske would immediately work on getting Weed Fest (Beer Fest 2) or maybe Return to Club Dread into production. Instead, they went back and finally made a film they have had written for over 20 years; Quasi.
Based on the character of Quasimodo from Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Quasi follows the life of the lowly and hated torture technician, Quasi, as he navigates his way around the late 1400 France as the Pope is about to visit his village.
As one expects, hilarity and mad-cap silliness ensues.
We had the chance to talk with the members of Broken Lizard about bringing this long brewing project to life.
A hapless hunchback yearns for love, but finds himself in the middle of a deadly feud between the Pope and the King of France when they each order the misfit to kill the other.
