Hulu has released first look images of Glen Powell in character as quarterback Russ Holliday for the upcoming comedy series, Chad Powers, Deadline is reporting. The new set photos come as the SAG Award-winning actor continues to film the upcoming project.

The pictures, which ESPN also shared on Instagram, highlight Powell’s complete physical transformation, which makes him almost unrecognizable. He’s revealed to be wearing a prosthetic nose, long hair and what appears to be a set of fake teeth. The images also show him dressed for a workout, which includes an arm sleeve.

The half-hour series follows Powell’s character of quarterback Russ Holliday as his bad behavior stalls his college career. He ultimately decides to disguise himself and join a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable titular protagonist.

Along with Michael Waldron, Powell co-created, co-scribed and executive produced the comedy. The show isn’t his first foray as a writer. He previously co-penned the screenplay for the Netflix action film, Hit Man. The actor worked on the script with Richard Linklater, the latter of whom also directed the movie. Powell also stared in the comedy.

Once the story for Chad Powers was set, Hulu ordered the project to series this past February. The show is based on the titular character, which was created by Eli Manning for his EPSN+ docuseries, Eli’s Places.

The Chad Powers sketch was produced by NFL Films and Omaha Productions. The series of sketches, which starred Manning, followed the former New York Giants quarterback as he would dress himself up as the eponymous character. He would often prank other players or random people by showing up and being better at his tasks than he looked.

Manning also serves as an executive producer on Chad Powers, along with his brother, fellow NFL quarterback, Peyton Manning. The football legends will be joined by several producers at Omaha Productions, including Jamie Horowitz and Ben Brown, as well as ESPN on the upcoming Hulu show.

Waldron, who also co-wrote the pilot script with Powell, and Adam Fasullo are producing the series for Anomaly Pictures. Powell is also an executive producer under his production co-banner Brainstorm. The producers are working with 20th Television on the comedy.

Quentin Plair and Wynn Everett recently joined Chad Powers as series regulars. Plair will play Coach Byrd, and Everett will portray Tricia. The show’s cast also includes Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny and Steve Zahn as Jake Hudson.

Tony Yacenda, the creator of American Vandal, directed the pilot episode for Chad Powers. Yacenda also recently helmed the Paramount+ series Players , and has also directed multiple episodes of the FXX comedy show, Dave.
